No-one expects to get leukaemia. It’s not hereditary, nor particularly common. However, for those diagnosed with the disease, their families and friends, it’s all too real and frightening.
‘Who’s Cooking Dinner?’ exists quite simply to create a better future for patients with leukaemia. To do this, it raises money for treatment and research, specifically for the specialist leukaemia centre at Hammersmith Hospital, one of the world’s leading units for haematology. This includes funding for:
clinical trials to study new and more effective therapies
the purchase of specialist equipment
the modernisation of clinical services, including the building of
The Catherine Lewis Centre, a £10 million state-of-the-art facility
at the Hammersmith.
Year on year, the generosity of our supporters is helping clinicians to beat blood cancers, and patients to enjoy a brighter future. Furthermore, scientists believe that the study of leukaemia will provide information relevant to the fight against all other kinds of cancer.
