The 2011 dinner was held on Monday 7th March at the newly reopened Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, and raised £431,000 for research into new treatments and cures for leukaemia at Hammersmith Hospital.
The highlight of the evening was the auction where Rainer Becker of Zuma attracted a top bid of £26,000 to prepare a dinner party for 10 people. Pierre Koffmann of Koffmann’s took £20,000, Richard Corrigan of Corrigan’s Mayfair £18,000 and Nuno Mendes of Viajante £17,000.
Of the other chefs Tom Aikens (Tom Aikens) fetched £12,000; Mark Edwards (Nobu) £16,000, Peter Gordon (The Providores) £13,000; Mark Hix (Hix) £14,000; Philip Howard (The Square) £16,000; Tim Hughes (Scott’s) £16,000; Michele Lombardi (Harry’s Bar) £10,000; Bruno Loubet (Bistrot Bruno Loubet) £17,000; Francesco Mazzei (L’Anima) £15,000; Tong Chee Hwee (Hakkasan) £16,000; and Marcus Wareing (The Gilbert Scott) £16,000.
With entertainment from comedian Rory Bremner, guests included the restaurateur Richard Caring of Caprice Holdings Ltd; actors
Dougray Scott and Claire Forlani; the literary agent Ed Victor; and Gail Roebuck, chief executive of Ramdom House Group.
